In Oceanic bark cloth making - particularly in Tonga where my mother is from; to create a finished artefact to gift to others, a koka'anga (group
of creative women) need to bring together the individual pieces they have worked on called feta'aki and combine it with everyone else's to create the larger ngatu - completed patterned piece.

In an urban environment Su'ifefiloi - the Samoan practice of sewing
different parts together, offers another way of thinking, doing and knowing which requires a willingness to go beyond discipline areas to produce knowledge (Lopesi, 2021). It is a Transdisciplinary way of thinking in Cosmopolitan Worlds.
